I’m glad we traded off the old coal fired steam cats. The new solar models are much less messy. No shoveling out the ashes, no steam and smoke, no stoking them up every four hours, no messy coal deliveries. Just have to remember to set them in the sun for about 5 hours every day to recharge them.

I have a hybrid model. Part of the day in the sun, most of the day in front of the radiator.

We have one of those too. If the sun is out she’s stretched out over there, otherwise she’s huddled up in front of the furnace vent.
