Do I really need to mention how hot it’s been here the last few days? We’re under one of those “heat domes” and it’s been sweltering. Daytime highs have been in the mid to high 90s with the heat index topping out at around 107. So far the AC has been holding up (he said keeping his fingers and toes crossed)
Meanwhile life goes on. MrsGF and I have been cooperating on a “Welcome” sign project. We finished up the first one and have two more to go. Here’s what the first looks like.

We still have to put a few coats of polyurethane on it to seal and weather proof it but we’re rather pleased with how this one turned out.
Sign looks great…I had heard it was gonna be 100+ in Green Bay…..damn…welcome to my nightmare….LOL chuq

That sounds about right. It hit 98 here at the house with a 107 degree ‘heat index”. It’s supposed to be a bit better today.

Ah, true. Come this winter we’ll be fondly remembering the heat when it’s about -20 out there! But on a serious note, I have a lot of problems dealing with hot weather. Cold I can handle, but heat? Nope.

It is so hot in NE Tennessee the cats have no fleas and the cock roaches have all dwindled away 😺

It’s not quite that hot here but we’re getting close 🙂

When we hit 99F last Friday, it made me feel quite ill. So you have my sympathies. Your sign looks really good!
Best wishes, Pete.

Thanks! We had these walnut slabs we got for free from a relative who cut down some walnut trees and had them milled into lumber and they were just going to burn the bark slabs that were cut off so we snagged a few of them. I wish now I’d grabbed all of them but at the time I wasn’t sure what to do with them. MrsGF came up with the idea of making these signs
